Healthy Skin is the Key to a Healthy You

Well, I am an internet marketer, which includes website design & development, graphic designer, SEO strategist, social media marketer, and so much more!

We all want to look our best and prevent the visible signs of aging as best we can. Taking good care of your skin is one of the best ways to accomplish that.

I’ve got some amazing products and procedures that will fix damaged skin, reverse the signs of aging, and make your skin brighter and clearer but no product will totally replace the results you get from living a healthy life style. For the most part, we know what we should be doing: eating a healthy diet, getting the proper amount of sleep, exercising and drinking lots of water. I’m sure you’ve experience the short term effects of not following these simple guidelines. When you deviate from the plan even for a couple of days you may wake up and take a look at yourself in the mirror and not be too happy about what you see.

But your skin care is about more than just appearances. Taking care of your skin – or not taking care of your skin – can have a tremendous effect on your overall health. Remember, your skin is an organ, just like your heart and liver, and it’s the largest organ of the body. The primary purpose of your skin is to act as a shield. It’s your body’s armor and it’s the first line of defense from a variety of intruders. That’s one reason why it’s important to moisturize your entire body. Its purpose is twofold. It not only for appearance and comfort but it inhibits intruders, like viruses and bacteria, from entering your body.

Your skin is also your body’s temperature regulator (which is why it contains sweat glands) along with being the main storage facility for water, fat and Vitamin D. Another critical function of your skin, one that is easily forgotten, is its sensory functions. Without our skin our brains can’t register any sense of touch. It’s amazing but our skin has a direct line of communication with our brains and we need to do all we can to preserve that link.

But there’s’ more! There are other cells in your skin that are just as vital to your health. In addition to the outer layer that, as I mentioned acts as a shield to your skin, you also have the Melanocytes that absorb UV light and protects you from cancer and the Langerhans cells, which are a critical component to your immune system. Damage to these cells can damage your health.

Your skin is the “face” you show the world. Damage and disease will surface if you don’t take care of it. This is true not only for your face but your entire body.

When you look good, you feel good and you seem to have that extra boost in your confidence and energy that helps you achieve more throughout the day.

Keep your body strong and protected. Take care of your skin, age gracefully and be well.
