When you’re dealing with the latest technology and medical science in the skincare industry, there’s a lot of vocabulary to learn.

These days, two of the most important med spa terms you can learn, especially when it comes to resurfacing, are Erbium and Exosomes.

You may have heard of laser resurfacing as an alternative to dermaplaning and chemical peels, but do you know what makes Erbium laser resurfacing special?

And did you know that even after this highly effective resurfacing treatment, there are products you can use that actually stimulate and supercharge your body’s own healing abilities? Leading to pristine skin in virtually no time at all?

Remember, you still have one more week (through Aug. 31, 2024) to take advantage of our August Erbium deal: Save $100 total—$50 off Erbium resurfacing and $50 off two AnteAge products (Brightener and Serum/Accelerator).

That’s what we’re here to talk about today: Erbium laser resurfacing and the AnteAge products that make it work even better.

What is resurfacing?

Resurfacing is an aesthetic practice akin to next-level exfoliation. Using precisely formulated chemicals or technology, resurfacing removes a superficial layer of skin cells—including dead cells, hyperpigmented cells, and sometimes scar tissue and other issues.

Resurfacing often causes a minimal amount of damage, leaving your body to heal the underlying layer and replace the old cells that were removed with fresh, new skin cells.

What is laser resurfacing?

Rather than chemical peels, which use acids, and dermaplaning, which uses a handheld, scalpel-like tool, laser resurfacing uses concentrated, pulsating beams of light to remove the surface layer of skin. Lasers first came into common medical use more than 60 years ago, and they remain a state-of-the-art option in both aesthetic and medical procedures today.

Aesthetic lasers come in both ablative and nonablative types. Ablative lasers (including Erbium and CO2) remove the outer layer of skin while stimulating collagen production in the underlying layer; nonablative lasers (like IPL) stimulate collagen production without whole-scale removal of the surface layer, resulting in less downtown and subtler overall results.

What is Erbium laser resurfacing?

Erbium laser resurfacing is a more precise, less invasive evolution in ablative laser resurfacing technology. The Erbium laser heats the water in the skin, causing a controlled injury that both removes damaged cells while stimulating collagen production in the healthy new cells underneath. This resurfacing happens in a precise area and at a controlled depth, resulting in less pain, lower risk of complications, and less downtown than other ablative laser treatment options.

After Erbium resurfacing, collagen production becomes noticeable after four weeks and tends to reach optimal levels at around 12 weeks. Especially here in Bradenton, Erbium is a popular resurfacing option for sun-damaged skin, hyperpigmentation, and both fine and deep wrinkles.

How can you ensure your body heals optimally after Erbium?

At Bellagena Med Spa Bradenton, we also recommend combining our precision laser resurfacing treatment with AnteAge growth factor skincare products. While both of these treatments work excellently on their own, combining Erbium and AnteAge gives you the biggest possible bang for your skincare buck.

AnteAge has been at the forefront of researching and developing products that utilize the body’s own cellular processes to repair skin to smoother, younger, and healthier appearance. And remember, Bellagena is one of only two AnteAge providers in Manatee County.

Among its products, AnteAge has developed exosomes that can be activated and topically applied by a skincare professional immediately after your Erbium treatment to kickstart and optimize the healing process.Exosomes are a lipid communicators—or biosignals—that tell cells to begin certain biological processes, including healing functions like collagen production. Exosomes are produced naturally by many different types of cells.

AnteAge also offers a full line of products designed for home use. These topical applications, including the AnteAge Brightener and the AnteAge Serum & Accelerator, utilize AnteAge’s own medically derived growth factors, especially cytokines, to give your skin cells the message and materials to build back better, younger skin.

These AnteAge products allow you to start your post-Erbium skincare in the strongest, best possible way.
