Summer Skincare Made Easy

Well, I am an internet marketer, which includes website design & development, graphic designer, SEO strategist, social media marketer, and so much more!

The sun is shining bright, the light ocean breeze is becoming warmer, and the hot nights are getting longer. It can mean only one thing – summer is almost here. This monthly, in honour of Summer Solstice, our blog is all about changing up your skincare routine to accommodate all the extra attention our skin needs during those hot summer days! So grab your sunglasses, your favourite refreshing drink, and let’s go!

Hydrate All Day

One of the most important activities you can do for your skin, especially during those hot summer days, is hydrate! Drinking water is one of the best, most natural, cost-effective ways to keep your skin healthy and radiant. Plus, it flushes out nasty toxins, which is good for our mind, body, and soul.

Double Up on Cleaning

During the hot summer months, chances are your skin will be exposed to more sweat and dirt than during the colder months, so it’s essential to double up when it comes to cleaning. We recommend using a gentle foaming cleanser (if you have combination skin, I highly recommend Sanita’s Enzymatic Foaming Cleaners) once in the AM and in the PM to keep your skin clean and fresh!

Scrub City Exfoliation

The benefits of using a face scrub 1-2 times per week are magical, but even more so in the summer. Just like we mentioned about, you’re outside more during the warmer months, so your skin will be exposed to more dirt and sweat. By including exfoliation into your weekly routine, your skin is getting a muchneeded deep clean, leaving your pores sparkling clean and your skin glowing!

Tone it Down

Once you’ve opened those lovely pores to give them a much needed deep clean, it’s time to close them up tighter than Ft. Knox to keep dirt and sweat to a minimum. Time to bring in your favourite, refreshing toner. You’re not only minimizing your pores with this beautiful elixir, but you’re also balancing your skin’s PH and evening out your skin tone (bye-bye blotchy red spots)!
Moisturize & Protect with SPF And our final summer skincare routine step is drum roll, please… you’ve got it, moisturizing! But it’s not just about slathering on your favourite, creamy, luxurious, lotion; it also about finding a balance between hydration and protecting your skin from those pesky (and harmful) UV rays. The last thing you want to do is clog your pores after taking the time to ensure they are squicky clean, but you also don’t want to damage your skin (which can lead to wrinkles), so we recommend using a light-weight moisturizer with an SPF of 30 or more. Or, if you are planning to spend long periods in the sun, be sure to apply sunscreen periodically throughout the day (and follow up with a PM cleaning).

So there you have it! Five easy steps to achieving health, summer skin! Have a blast, protect your precious skin, and enjoy the coming summer months!
